Vicki Allums ’79 supported the Technology Like No Other campaign by naming an office within the new CMIT building. She was honored to recognize and celebrate her mother, Angelyn A. Morton, by dedicating the space to her. As a first-generation alumna, it was a full-circle moment for Allums, who teared up and was at a loss for words when she first saw her mother’s name etched on the glass of the space at the building dedication.

“My mother’s belief in hard work, education and strong character are the foundations of my life and guided me as a Berea College student,” Allums said. “The CMIT room dedication is my way of saying, ‘Mom, thanks for a job well done!’

“I hope the next generation of Berea College students,” Allums continued, “are inspired to honor the people who have shaped their lives in the future when they walk past mom’s room in the CMIT building.”
