Labor Students from the Center for International Education (CIE) and the Academic Affairs Office created sustainably dyed tablecloths to adorn tables at various College functions. Through this experiential project, students researched one indigo dyeing technique each, then taught one another about their particular process—the international origin and history as well as the skills involved in creating the desired pattern. The dye selected for the project was an organic natural dye that will model sustainable living by carrying a low environmental footprint.
